Special Cellar Door Day

Wine tasting passport - $60 per person*

Sober driver ticket - $10

A ticket to this event is your passport to a day of one-of-a-kind cellar door visits with offerings that are exclusively for ticket holders. The wineries of West Auckland are pulling out their rare, unique or just plain fun tasting experiences for this day only.

Make your own way around the list of participating vineyards

from 11am - 5pm. In whatever order suits. No door sales.

 

Each venue will be ready to share something special with you.

 

Exclusive winery offerings for ticket holders

Babich Wines  - 15 Babich Road, Henderson Valley

Join Babich Wines as they showcase an incredible selection of  ‘Library releases’.  Taste Reserve Pinot Noir, Syrah and other award winning red blends matched to delicious Glenbrook cheese.

 

Coopers Creek - 601 State Highway 16, Huapai, Kumeu

Coopers Creek are opening their library to offer an exclusive vertical tasting. Sample 3 different vintages of Swamp Reserve Chardonnay or their Reserve Syrah.

 

Soljans Estate Winery - 366 State Highway 16, Kumeu

Meet a Soljan family member, try your hand at riddling and participate in an interactive Méthode Traditionnelle tasting experience.

Sessions start on the hour during event hours.

 

Westbrook Winery - 215 Ararimu Valley Road, Waimauku

Meet the winemaker and cheesemaker from West Brook Wines and Grinning Gecko Cheese. Taste four award-winning wines matched to artisan cheeses while relaxing in a private mezzanine looking into the winery.

 

The Hunting Lodge -  307 Waikoukou Valley Road, Waimauku

Enjoy a mini Grape vs. Grain experience at The Hunting Lodge restaurant and winery. Sample a wine pitched against a beer from Liberty Brewing Co alongside a food match by award-winning chef Des Harris.

 

Kumeu River Wines  - 550 State Highway 16, Kumeu

Enjoy tutored preview tastings of the soon to be released range of 2018 Village, Estate and Single vineyard Chardonnays (straight from the tank!). The Single Vineyard Chardonnays in particular have a stellar international reputation and always sell out quickly.

Session times for this will be 12.10pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm

Timing:  11am – 5pm 

Ticket price for wine tastings - $60 per person*

Sober driver ticket - $10

*Transport is not included in the ticket price. Please ensure you have a nominated

sober driver for your afternoon. 

*The sober driver tickets gives the nominated driver non-alcoholic drinks at each venue and allows them to participate in any food pairings that may be included in the cellar door visit.

10:30am - Bus collects passengers from outside Downtown Ferry Terminal, Queens Wharf, Auckland City.

11:00am - 11:40am Babich Wines – Enjoy Babich Wine’s Library Release showcase matched to delicious Glenbrook cheese

12:05pm - 12:45pm Kumeu River Wines – Try tutored tastings of the soon to be released range of 2018 Village, Estate and Single vineyard Chardonnays.

12:50pm - 2:00pm Soljans Estate Winery - Interactive Méthode Traditionnelle tasting experience (there is a longer stop here to allow for optional lunch.)

2:15pm - 2:55pm Coopers Creek - Exclusive Vertical Tastings from their library

3:05pm - 4:10pm The Hunting Lodge - Enjoy a mini Grape vs. Grain experience (there is a longer stop here to allow for optional afternoon tea.)

4.45pm Bus drops passengers off at Downtown Ferry Terminal, Queens Wharf, Auckland City.

* please note that minimum numbers are required for the bus service to run. In the unlikely event there are enough people for the bus to run,

you will be advised and the ticket refunded.
